FutureTheory is looking for collaborators/freelancers to help us with overflow work and some ongoing projects. We’ve got plans for a better future and we need your expertise to help get us there.
Who we are
We’re a Canberra based marketing and design consultancy – hard-working and detail orientated but love to have a good laugh as well. We’re going through a growth phase in a competitive industry and looking to engage the talent that will help us continue to grow.
Our clients are as diverse as large organisations operating across the globe, to innovators working on their startup every evening once they’re home from work. Our team, partners and collaborators are just as diverse in their occupations and passions.
You may be a student, you may have a degree, you may have just graduated. Frankly, it doesn’t matter to us. What matters to us is your drive and work ethic. If you’re already great at what you do, you’ll be right at home at FutureTheory. If you’ve still got your training wheels on, the team at FutureTheory would love to help you grow.
You would be self-driven, capable of meeting deadlines and focused on exceeding expectations. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and value trust and transparency. You are bold, confident and keen to make your mark.
You would need to have the tools to complete your tasks whether that be a car to attend meetings, a laptop to develop on or a printer to test your final designs.
Ideally you would be located in Canberra, Australia, however, we would consider submissions from individuals based all over the world. We are passionate about supporting individuals within our local community, but we also want to provide our clients with the best service possible. Where you’re based matters, but we will pick you if your work is of a high standard and you’re based elsewhere.
We are looking to engage collaborators/freelancers on a project-by-project basis. Some of the work would be long term while others would be completed within a few hours. You would be free to work on projects from wherever and whenever you like (except where meetings etc might be necessary).
Email us at email@example.com with the following:
- A few words about yourself
- Outline what you can bring to the relevant role
- Your experience and expertise
- Examples of previous work (personal or client work)

We have a few platforms on which your writing skills will be put to use, including copywriting for client projects as well as our own websites. For blogging and content marketing tasks you will need to conduct research and write articles on a range of topics. For client projects, you would often need to obtain content from clients and then either rewrite or tweak this content for the needed applications. Experience in writing for the web and search engines would be beneficial.
Using Illustrator and InDesign would be second nature to you. Your roles could range from digitising a hand-drawn logo to laying out a report. You will need a keen eye for detail, knowledge of digital and print applications, paper stocks, file types and printing methods.
You will need to be great at landing pages, social media and advertising online. You have a well-rounded knowledge of content marketing and search engine optimisation. You’re able to spot trends before they become mainstream and apply this to multiple platforms including WordPress and social media.
